Mrs. Plummer was born in McRae and was the daughter of the late Rev. Otis McRae and Bessie Mae McRae. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Martha Alice Harvard, her youngest sister, Clora Mary McRae and brother-in-law, William M. Plummer. She was a member of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church and served as trustee; member of the gospel choir, including past president; Sunday School teacher for the primary class; president of the Senior Missionary Society; chairman for the Women's Day Committee; member of the Hospitality Committee and was awarded the President's Award from the gospel choir for her service. Mrs. Plummer graduated from Oconee High School and was employed with Oxford Industry for 20 years and also Vatco Continental Company. She first began as director of Simpson Nursery and later became founder, owner and CEO of Glenda's Kids Kastle. Mrs. Plummer was a member of several civic and professional organizations including the Emerald Business and Professional Women's Club where she was elected the second president and held affiliation with the Federation of Colored Women's Club Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Paul Mack Plummer Sr. Mrs. Plummer died Sunday.
Survivors include her five children, Kerry Dwight McRae Sr. of Dublin, Charles Plummer (Rhonda) of Stafford, Virginia, Cathy Hill (Mitchell) of McDonough, Paul Mack Plummer Jr. and Rega Quinella McRae (Vernon) of Dublin; 13 grandchildren, Kerry Dwight McRae Jr., Korey D'Waune McRae, Kourtney Elizabeth McRae, Ebony Nichole Plummer, Charles Louis Plummer, Jasmine Lynn Plummer, Mitchell Matthew Hill, Candace Lynette Hill, Anthony Pitts, Michelle Hill, Nikki Hill, Marcus Hill and Lance Williams (Shawanda); great-grandchild, Tykerius Jhemar McRae; stepmother, Mrs. Louise McRea of Dublin; brothers, Benjamin McRae (Flo) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Virgil Coates (Bessie) of Helena, Louis McRae (Bettye) of Dublin, Otis McRae (Mary) of Morrow, Ronald McRae (Curretta) of Dublin and Tara McRae of Riverdale; sisters, Charlotte McRae Williams (Ervin) of Savannah, Willie Mae McRae Cooper (Rufus) of Atlanta, Betty McRae Wells (Robert) of Birmingham, Alabama and Velma McRae Vickers of Dublin; sister-in-law, Ethel Plummer; aunts, Elizabeth McRae of Deland, Fla. and Lou Willa Plummer and Latha Norris of Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Glenda Plummer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
