Mrs. Troup was born and grew up in Reidsville and lived in St. Petersburg, Florida in the early 1950s. While living in St. Petersburg, Latrelle was a model and was crowned the 1952 Tampa Cigar Bowl Queen. She worked for years with her husband in their drugstore and was very involved in her children’s school and community and activities. She often greeted homeless animals with food and shelter. She moved to Wrightsville with her husband in 1958 where Mr. Troup owned and operated Troup Drugstore until his retirement. Her gift and love of fashion inspired her to open a ladies boutique in the 1970s. She was a member of Reidsville Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Earl C. Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Patti Troup Drew and Dr. Peter Drew of Gainesville, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Chris Troup and Lisa Troup of Macon; three grandchildren, Matthew Drew of Gainesville, Florida and Michelle and Allison Troup of Macon; a sister, Carolyn S. Rewis of Reidsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary in Macon.
Those who wish may make a contribution to The Children’s Hospital at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, or Portsbridge Hospice.
