Mrs. Jernigan was born in Corinth, AL. She was the daughter of the late Major Frank Morrison, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Gadston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm M. Jernigan, Sr., son Malcolm M. Jernigan, Jr., and two granddaughters, Susan Jernigan and Dawn Luttenauer.
Before moving to Warner Robins in the late 50s, Mrs. Jernigan and her family lived in Dublin, GA. In 1959, she and her husband opened and operated the Plaza Restaurant until 1966. In 1969, she began working at the Twentieth Century Restaurant as the Assistant Manager. Her joy in life was her family and to serve people.
Survivors include her son, Tyrus (Debbie) Jernigan of Warner Robins; daughter, Mary Sally (Paul) Luttenauer of Pompano, FL; son, Dr. E. Carl (Vicki) Shaw of Hawkinsville; sister, Maudine Colfield of Wedowee, AL; grandchildren, Charlotte Ann (Carl) Wade, Kevin Jernigan, Tiffani Jernigan, Shawn (Lisa) Luttenauer, Drs. Amy (Mike) Logan, Amber (Brian) Lamb; great grandchildren, Caden Jernigan, C.J. Wade, Charles Wade, Tyler Luttenauer, Tate McGowan, Donny Ferry, Sean Ferry; beloved nephew (son) Gerald Wilkerson; and many other loved nieces and nephews. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
